Subteams
Drive
Our drive subteam drives the robot at competitions, and focuses on strategy and game play. Members fill various roles including human player and drive coach.
Business, Media, & Outreach
The business team is responsible for maintaining the team image, writing articles, updating the website, and creating graphics. The business team also writes submissions for awards and assists with grant writing. The subteam also plans and attends outreach events throughout the year.
Mechanical
The mechanical subteam creates parts and assembles the robot. The team members are extensively trained on the tools and machines available in our shop and work closely with all other subteams to build according to the teams’ goals and objectives.
Programming
The programming team uses Java to program the robot to execute various tasks.
Procurement
The procurement subteam manages the shop, including tools, machine maintenance, and supply organization. Procurement members also assist with ordering any requested parts and supplies.
strategy
The strategy team is responsible for researching game strategy and working with the teams we play with at competitions.
Safety
Our Safety Subteam is responsible for making sure team members are properly trained on tools, and maintains a safety record for the team.
Wiring
Students on the Wiring subteam wire the robot created by the mechanical subteam. They also manage pneumatic systems.
CAD
Our CAD team uses Computer Aided Design (CAD) to create images of parts and mechanisms for the robot. These images are sent to the mechanical team for fabrication.
