Printable Team Information Sheet
Team Basics:
No experience is necessary to join any of our teams. We are looking for students who are interested in electronics, robotics, programming, mechanics, as well as business, project management, photography, media, and marketing. All of our teams compete in competitions through the FIRST Inspires program. We value diversity.
Our FRC team, the Iron Patriots, is a larger time commitment and is open to all area high school students. These students meet two evenings a week, all day Saturday and some Sundays during our build season from early January through March. Two multi-day competitions take place in March/April. Competitions are generally as close as Davis or as far away as Idaho, with the possibility of World Championships in Houston in April.
In addition to the build season events, students on the Iron Patriots will meet throughout the year to develop skills and learn from mentors and experienced students. The students participate in many fundraising events though out the year, mentor local students, assist other robotics teams, and participate in community events.
Mentors:
Our team relies on adult mentors for all of our sub-teams. We currently need a programming mentor to work with the students during the build season. We primarily use Java. We could also utilize engineers to help with project management, CAD design, and execution.
Booster Meetings - Parents and Guardians please join us!
3rd Wednesday of the month, 6:30 p.m. in the Beyer STEM / Leadership Room off of Palmwood Ave.
