Robotics Pathway

The field of Robotics is extremely wide and growing exponentially. Through the pathway and courses offered, Beyer High School attempts to engage and inform students of the many differing careers to which they can aspire.
Beyer High School offers the following courses in the Robotics Pathway:

Robotics I: The Robotics I course melds programming with simple building, design, and the engineering process. Students can use a range of LEGO NXT parts, including motors and sensors, to build a robot to complete a certain task or challenge. One of these challenges includes creating a claw to pick up objects (Image below).

Robotics II/III: Robotics II and III will take the students into manufacturing, more complex building, and more intricate wiring. The Robotics II/III Courses delve into some of the more basic mechanics that are covered in the FRC challenges. Students are broken up into teams of two to three students each and must build and design a robot to fit the challenge they are given each semester.

Pre-Engineering Programming: The Pre-Engineering course focuses on programming and uses pre-made robots and implements a curriculum designed through UC Davis.
